Super Skinny Smoothie

When I need to drop a few pounds quickly, I always rely on smoothies.  If I  use a smoothie as a meal replacement, I always add a scoop of protein powder and I eat a lot of fresh veggies and fruit. This particular smoothie is super low in calories and high in nutrients.  It can be used as a snack and it’s great for controlling those unwanted cravings.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons low fat ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • handful of ice
  • 1 packet stevia

DIRECTIONS:

Mix in a blender until smooth.

NUTRITION INFO:

89 Calories; 4gm fat; 8gm carbohydrate; 2gm fiber; 4gm protein

Banana Nana Smoothie

This banana smoothie is not only healthy and super easy to make, it can also be a complete meal.  It is high in calcium and protein and very satisfying.  Not to mention, it is absolutely delicious!  Enjoy!!

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 small ripe banana

1 cup Almond Breeze almond coconut milk

1-5 oz. container plain nonfat greek yogurt

DIRECTIONS:

Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth.  Makes 1 serving.

230 Calories; 3 gm Fat; 36 gm Carbohydrate; 4 gm Fiber; 17 gm Protein; 176 mg Sodium; 610 mg Calcium

Skinny Orange Julius

This is a great summer smoothie!  It’s so refreshing and yummy!!  And only 3 ingredients; well 4, if you count the ice cubes.

WHAT YOU NEED:
2 Cups Tropicana 50 Orange Juice
1 Very Ripe Banana
2 Tablespoons Sugar Free Vanilla Instant Pudding
1o Small Ice Cubes

DIRECTIONS:

Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.  Pour into 2 plastic glasses.  Freeze for 15 minutes until slushy.  Stir with a spoon.

Skinny Holiday Smoothie

I am really impressed with this smoothie creation.  It is so yummy and versatile.  It can be served as a low calorie substitute for egg nog or as a breakfast smoothie.  So give it a blend and enjoy.

What you need:

  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1 cup 50/50 orange juice (Tropicana)
  • 6 oz. vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 medium banana
  • 10 ice cubes
  • cinnamon

What to do:

Place all ingredients except cinnamon in a blender.  Blend until smooth.  Pour in glasses.  Sprinkle with cinnamon. Makes 4 servings.

Nutrition Info: (per serving) 90 calories, 17 g carbohydrate, 4 g protein, < 1 g fat, 66 mg sodium

Save calories with these summer cocktail recipes.

Strawberry Daquiri

  • 2 oz. rum
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 4 strawberries
  • ice

Blend all ingredients in blender.  145 Calories.

Hard Lemonade

  • 8 oz. cyrstal light lemonade
  • 1 oz. grape vodka

Stir and serve over ice.  90 Calories.

Cosmopolitan

  • 1.5 oz. orange vodka
  • 1.5 oz. Oceanspray sugar free cranberry juice
  • splash of lime juice

Shake all ingredients in shaker with ice.  Pour into glass.  105 Calories.

Have Another Skinny Frosty

I had multiple requests for other flavors of the original skinny version of the Wendy’s Frosty.  You can use any flavor of instant low calorie pudding.  I tested vanilla and banana cream and they were both wonderful!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • cup fat-free milk
  • 2 tablespoons low calorie (sugar-free) vanilla or any flavor instant pudding
  • 2 tablespoons Cool Whip Free
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.  Pour in a glass and freeze until it has a frosty consistency.  Makes 1 serving; 130 calories and 0 fat.

Wendy’s Frosty Skinny Version

I came across a copy cat recipe for a Wendy’s Frosty on Pinterest.  I tweaked it to make it fat free and low calorie.  The final product is amazing!  Tastes just like a real Frosty.

INGREDIENTS:

  • cup fat-free milk
  • 2 tablespoons low calorie (sugar-free) chocolate instant pudding
  • 2 tablespoons Cool Whip Free
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.  Pour in a glass and freeze until it has a frosty consistency.  Makes 1 serving; 130 calories and 0 fat.

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Just blend all ingredients in a blender and pour into a glass.  Yummy!  Makes 2 servings.  1 serving= 145 calories, 0 fat, 20 g CHO, 3 g fiber, 8 g Pro, 30% calcium.
